Television series "Meet the Miners" under production
Minerals West Coast is working to produce a television/video series showcasing miners and mining up and down the country. The aim is to give audiences an understanding and appreciation of the people involved in mining and how it works in modern day New Zealand.
Two episodes have been produced to draft stage so far, with another four scheduled for production. The aim is to produce six episodes in total, with viewers accessing these episodes via television or digital distribution.

Minerals West Coast’s manager, Patrick Phelps, presented to attendants of the recent AusIMM New Zealand Branch conference dinner about the project, seeking to raised awareness as well as funding and support for the project.
1News poll result outlines level of support for mining
A recently published 1News poll indicates a large (45%) minority of New Zealanders support more mining, while a smaller minority (38%) oppose. The smallest portion of poll respondents (17%) were either unsure/preferred not to say. The full story can be viewed below, or by clicking here.
